At Colmore Farms, our goal is to provide our customers the healthiest, safest, and most wholesome beef eating experience possible. We start with a breed of cattle, the Salers breed, which is widely known for most of the best qualities that go into the production of beef. Our cattle are humanely raised on open pastures, in idyllic conditions. When the time comes, the calves are brought in and finished out on grain, which produces the marbling, the tenderness, and the flavor.
We never use steroids or growth hormones.
When finished, the animal is killed and hung on the rail for up to three weeks. This aging process further produces flavor and tenderness. The carcass is then taken down, cut to the customer’s specifications and frozen in vacuum sealed packaging.
Although there are differences, one animal typically yields about 600 pounds of steaks, roasts, and ground beef. We offer quarter, half, and whole beef orders.
